Golda Vainberg-Tatz - Piano Described as “a pianist with wonderful firm, clear touch” (New York Times), “fascinating interpreter (Tagblat, Germany), “artist of depth and virtuosity” (The Time Argus, USA) received her musical education in Lithuania at the Ciurlionis School of Arts, Israel’s Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv University, and The Juilliard School in New York. As a recitalist, Vainberg-Tatz performed throughout Europe, Israel and U.S. and appeared on many radio and television broadcasts in Europe, such as WQXR in New York City, recitals live on “Dame Myra Hess” series in Chicago, “Sundays Live” KMZT in Los Angeles, in major halls in New York City, including the Weill Recital Hall, 92nd street Y, Merkin Hall. She was a guest artist in Mozarteum Festival in Salzburg, Vilnius Festival in Lithuania, St. Petersburg Palaces chamber music festival in Russia, Puigcerda music festival in Spain, International Music Academy in Italy, among a few. As a soloist, she performed extensively in her native Lithuania with the National Symphony (Saint Saens No.2, Ravel in G Major, Beethoven No.4) Robert Servenikas, Zeev Dorman conducting, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra (Mozart K. 382, 466, 453, 537, Shnitke and Mendelsohn double concerti) under the baton of Saulius Sondeckis. She performed the Mozart Concerto K. 453 in the Tchaikovsky Grand Hall, with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Constantin Orbelian conducting. In USA she performed with Ann Arbor Symphony in Michigan (Brahms Concerto No1), Cincinnati Symphony (Rachmaninov Concerto No2). As a chamber musician she appeared with the Vilnius String Quartet in many occasions, performing the Chausson Concerto (with the late violinist Raimundas Katilius), the Concerto Grosso No 6 by Schnittke, the Double Concerto for violin and piano by Mendelsohn (with the violinist and conductor Sasha Rozhdestvensky), and chamber music with the violinist Dmitry Berlinsky and cellist Suren Bagratuni. She premiered works by such composers as Moisei Vainberg, Erwin Schulhoff, Jan Radzynski in Lithuania, Washington D.C. (at the Holocaust Museum concert series), Israel (at the Holocaust Museum in Tel Aviv), Columbus Ohio University, Toronto, Canada (at the Jewish Festival Week). Her prizes and awards include the first prize in the Lithuanian State Competition for Young pianists, full scholarships from America - Israel Cultural Foundation, Maurice Claremont contest in Israel, top prizes at the Young Keyboard Artists at the University of Michigan, The World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, the Frinna Awerbuch International Competition in New York, the Prix-du Disque from French Piano Institute in Paris, the Palm Beach Invitational International Competition in Florida. Ms. Vainberg -Tatz recordings include Moisei Vainberg Chamber Music with Vilnius String Quartet (Delos label, USA), “The Portrait” (solo works, FPI label), French violin-piano sonatas with Raimundas Katilius, Mozart piano concertos with Moscow Chamber Orchestra, piano music by Robert Schumann (3D label in France), which received highest critical acclaim in Fanfare and American Record Guide. Ms. Vainberg-Tatz studied with Mindru Katz, Emanuel Krasovsky (Rubin Academy, Tel Aviv University) in Israel, Bella Davidovich (The Juilliard School) Nina Svetlanova (Manhattan School), Jeffrey Swann, and Dr.Rosalyn Tureck in New York. She serves on the faculties at the Manhattan School of music (preparatory division, associate faculty at the college division), Special Music School in New York, and as guest associate teacher in The Juilliard School, gave master classes in Tel Aviv University, Buchman –Mehta Academy, Edward Aldwell Center at Jerusalem Music Academy, among others. She has been active as a judge at The Juilliard School concerto and scholarship competition, including national and international competitions. Numerous of her students won top prizes in International and National competitions. Under appointment of the late Dr. Rosalyn Tureck, she is serving as director to the Tureck International Bach Competition for Young Pianists.
